סֶרֶךְm. (preced.) clinging to, following the example of; habit. Nidd.67b משום ס׳ בתה because her daughter might follow her example (and make the mothers exceptional act a rule for all occasions). Ḥull.106a נטילת … משום ס׳ תרומה the washing of hands before a meal on secular food was introduced for the sake of uniformity with Trumah (to make it a habit).
